One of the most-anticipated Dota 2 esports events kicks off Tuesday, July 7, 2026.

That is the Dota 2 Esports World Cup 2026, pitting two dozen of the best Dota 2 teams for a share of a $2m prize pool.

The tournament will run through July 19

The Dota 2 Esports World Cup 2026 will run between July 7 and July 19, 2026.

The prestigious esports tournament will feature three stages and a total of 24 teams.

Notably, the $2m prize pool is split among all teams competing, and even the bottom placements will benefit from a monetary prize.

Not unexpectedly, the winner of the Dota 2 Esports World Cup 2026 will receive the biggest prize for a $750,000 payday along with 1,000 Club Points.

On the other hand, teams raking second and third place will benefit from $340,000 and 750 Club Points and $200,000 and 500 Club Points, respectively.

Teams competing in the tournament that rank fourth will receive $120,000 from the prize pool along with 300 Club Points.

Dota 2 esports teams ranking between fifth and eighth place will each receive $70,000 prizes along with 200 Club Points.

Contestants finishing between ninth and 12th place will benefit from $40,000 prize each, while teams ranking 13th through 16th place will go home with a $20,000 prize each.

Esports teams finishing between 17th and 20th place will receive $10,000 each, while teams in the bottom four places will receive a $7,500 each.

As noted, the Dota 2 Esports World Cup 2026 includes a total of three stages, namely, a group stage, a survival stage and playoffs.

In the group stage, the 24 esports teams will be separated into four groups with each group consisting of six teams.

The teams that take the top spots will progress to the playoffs.

On the other hand, the survival stage will see the teams compete in elimination matches.

Dota 2 esports teams that make it to the playoffs will play matches in a best-out-of-three.

The grand final will feature a best-out-of-five structure.

Considering that Team Spirit emerged as the 3-0 victors in the Dota 2 EWC 25 grand finale, they automatically secured a spot for the 2026 edition of the event.

Notable teams that will compete include Team Liquid, Xtreme Gaming, GamerLegion and Virtus.pro, among others.
