Hawk Tuah Girl, the Internet celebrity who vaulted to online stardom in 20 seconds, continues to grab headlines. After confirming the registration of a sports betting brand earlier this year, Hailey Welch will join The Celebrity PokerTour and vie for a $50,000 prize pool.
The premise of the event is simple enough – get a bunch of popular personalities together and make them square off in a game of poker.

Although the prize pool is substantial, it will hardly be the focal point of the event, with people tuning in to watch Dwight Howard, JaVale McGee, Mario Chalmers, Kendrick Perkins, and Welch vie in a game of poker.
The event is set to launch on Saturday, August 31, and it will be streamed on either PokerGO’s subscription service or directly on the official event’s YouTube channel.
The news that the online sensation Hawk Tuah Girl will appear on the stream was met with a mix of mirth and bitterness by netizens who jostled to praise and put Welch down.
One user, Barry Carter, who is a poker writer and player himself, said that The Celebrity Poker Tour was where celebrities "go to die." He also said that the "15 minutes are always up," a common and rather trite criticism of Hawk Tuah Girl’s embrace of her internet brand which critics have suggested is "on the clock."
In fairness, some of Welch’s performances, such as turning up at a music festival and crooning awkwardly onstage to a mortified audience, do give his claim credence.
However, Welch has already established her own company, she has partnered with an apparel brand and has thrown the first pitch at a Mets’ game.
