Data-driven engagement and conversion specialist for the iGaming and sports betting industries SharpLink Gaming Ltd has announced an Agreement and Plan Merger that will result in the 100% acquisition of SportsHub Games Network.
SportsHub Games Network is an established fantasy and sports games provider, and the company will be acquired as part of an all-stock acquisition, which is still subject to customary closing conditions, including regulatory and shareholder approvals. SportsHub has been running an outstanding product focused on real-money fantasy sports since 2015 and today, it reunites more than 2m sports fans.
The user base at SportsHub spends close to $40m annually, according to the official announcement detailing the transaction. SharpLink Co-founder and CEO Rob Phythian welcomed the opportunity which will give the company access to fantasy sports fans who are very likely to want to become real sports bettors once they have the option to do so in their own states.
"With a thriving ecosystem of cash players, many of whom have money in their user accounts, we have a tremendous opportunity to seamlessly integratecompelling sportsbook offers within all aspects of the user experience," Phythian added. The acquisition plays an important role in outlining and boosting SharpLink’s further plans to achieve better and sustained growth.
Through SportsHub, SharpLink will have access to a "Plug and Play" solution that will enable it to conduct future acquisitions in what the company describes as an "efficient and scalable way." SharpLink will be able to further boost game-changing C4 engine conversion capabilities which have been helping media operators, sportsbooks, and leagues scale their offer, the executive explained
SharpLink remains confident that it will remain a proven source of conversion technology that delivers customers new revenue channels and which will be now further enhanced by the SportsHub Games Network studio. SportsHub Chairman of the Board John Lettmann welcomed the opportunity in a similar vein and said that he was excited about the two companies coming together through that merger.
The deal, he argued, was a significant opportunity for both companies in the US sports betting market, particularly at a point when this same market is rapidly evolving and maturing. SharpLink, Lettmann noted, will allow SportsHub to boost its own growth in fantasy sports and other gaming products, solidifying its presence in the industry and ensuring that it brings better value to all stakeholders.
SportHub’s platform features a number of assets, including Fantasy National Golf Club, National Fantasy Championships, Fanball, and so much more. SharpLink has made several appointments in the recent weeks and months, including that of Robert DeLucia and Tom Masterman.
