SharpLink Gaming, the leading American sports betting technology pioneer, announced a new senior leadership appointment. On Wednesday, the company revealed that it hired the services of Robert DeLucia. In his new position as a part of SharpLink Gaming, he will serve as the company's new Chief Financial Officer (CFO).

DeLucia brings more than 30 years of financial industry experience. His appointment as CFO is effective as of August 22, 2022, and as CFO, DeLucia will be replacing Brian Bennett, who revealed other career plans.

Most recently, DeLucia served as Chief Accounting Officer for nearly a year until December 2021 at GTT, a global network provider that offers connectivity and security services to private companies and government structures. Before that, DeLucia was a part of Eastern Airlines LLC for nearly a year until November 2020. As a Controller for Easter Airlines, he spearheaded accounting processes that included managing internal controls, financial reporting and other financial processes.

Prior to Eastern Airlines, DeLucia was also a part of Tarsus CFO Services LLC and Truss LLC, a commercial insurance agency. For three years until September 2019, he served as CFO of the company and led it through rough financial conditions. Thanks to his help, Truss LLC became EBITDA positive in early 2019 and it was consequently acquired by Hub International in August of the same year.

For four and a half years until April 2016, DeLucia also served as Divisional CFO and Corporate Controller at Taurus Aerospace Group. His professional background also includes leadership positions as a part of Digital Bridge Communications, MOD Systems as well as Clearwire Communications. For nearly 5 years until March 2007, DeLucia served as Vice President and Controller at Adephia Communications Corporations.

The recent appointment complements another senior leadership hire completed by SharpLink only recently. Back in July, the company hired the services of Tom Masterman. Masterman was appointed as the company's new Vice President, Revenue.

Rob Phythian, the CEO and Co-Founder of SharpLink, commented on the topic in a statement released on August 17, 2022. He said: "Bob is a proven CFO with a superior track record of delivering results and creating value for a wide range of public and private companies spanning a range of global industries."

Phythian acknowledged that DeLucia has deep expertise in SEC reporting and compliance, as well as mergers and acquisitions. According to SharpLink's CEO, DeLucia's vast professional background brings a strategic set of skills that will have a positive impact on the company.

What's more, Phythian thanked Bennett on behalf of the company's senior management team and Board of Directors for his efforts. In conclusion, SharpLink's CEO and Co-Founder said that the company is delighted to have DeLucia join its leadership team and help it achieve its next level of growth.
