The federally recognized Indian tribe located on the San Manuel Indian Reservation near Highland in California, the San Manuel Band of Mission Indians, announced a new executive-level appointment. The Tribe revealed last week that it strengthened its growing team of experts with the addition of Simon Fothergill to the role of Chief Information & Technology Officer (CITO).

In his new role, Fothergill brings extensive experience within the gaming sector. As the enterprise's CITO, he will report directly to Brigitte Saria, the San Manuel Band of Mission Indians' Chief People and Infrastructure Officer.

As CITO, Fothergill will be responsible for the execution of growth strategies for the Tribe. Moreover, he will be in charge of the growth and development of the Tribe's technology roadmap and play an important role in different activities related to entertainment, hospitality, as well as gaming, a statement reveals.

It was back in 2019 when Fothergill first joined the Tribe. At the time, he was appointed to the role of Vice President of Information Technology Business Services. In that role, Fothergill was in charge of talent acquisition, innovation in products and technology. As a part of his responsibilities, he oversaw the opening of Yaamava' Resort & Casino at San Manuel. Additionally, Fothergill's efforts played a key role in the development of the Information Technology support for Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas.

Before San Manuel, he accumulated knowledge and expertise after being a part of leading companies within the gaming and entertainment sectors. Fothergill held senior-level roles with Aristocrat Technologies, as well as Pinnacle Entertainment. This enabled him to play an important role in the development of growth strategies that encompassed hotel, resort, casino, as well as gaming products for the markets in the United States and around the globe.

Currently, Fothergill has a Master of Science in Information Systems from the University of Liverpool. He also holds multiple certificates in technology, management and leadership from the Project Management Institute, MIT Sloan, Columbia Business School and Villanova.

Fothergill was delighted to become a part of the Tribe's C-suite. "It's an honor to be given this responsibility and an exciting opportunity to be tasked with executing the Tribe's vision," he said.

The Tribe's Chief People and Infrastructure Officer, Brigitte Saria, shared her excitement and spoke about Fothergill's extensive experience and acknowledged his achievements. "Simon has successfully driven numerous IT initiatives at a critical period of growth for the Tribe. We are thrilled to have him joining our senior leadership team," she explained in conclusion.
