After Wynn Resorts International became the first hospitality company to obtain a license in the United Arab Emirates and from the General Commercial Gaming Regulatory Authority (GCGRA) to run a land-based casino, Aristocrat has now become the first gambling supplier to be licensed by the watchdog.
The Australian gambling machine manufacturer has obtained its license from the GCGRA which will allow it to now roll out its products on casino floors in the UAE. Presently, the only project that is due to be realized is the Wynn Al Marjan Island, in Ras Al-Khaimah, which should be arriving by 2027.
Yet, Aristocrat is already planning to be a vital part of the local offer and establish itself as the go-to supplier of electronic gaming machines. Commenting on this opportunity, Aristocrat CEO, Gaming, Hector Fernandez had this to add:
"We are honored to be the first large, international technology provider to be awarded a gaming-related vendor license to serve the UAE market. At Aristocrat, our vision is to deliver the best seat in the house wherever, and whenever the world plays. We look forward to doing so by providing premium content for players in the UAE while simultaneously encouraging responsible gameplay."
The company is happy to have obtained the Gaming Related Vendor License which will allow it to bring world-class gaming content to the newly-regulated jurisdiction as soon as the market opens.
The Wynn Resorts property is set to cost the company around $5.1bn, and a second property may be arriving, with MGM Resorts International hoping to get a foothold in the Middle East, which is set to become one of the hottest destinations for high roller and well-heeled gamblers.
More details about the forthcoming gambling market in the UAE are coming. As noted, there is a good chance that Wynn Resorts will hardly be the only operator locally, as the region may be finally warming up to gambling and attracting wealthy foreigners.
