Ocean Casino Resort resumes gaming after accident

One of the leading gaming, hospitality and entertainment venues in Atlantic City, New Jersey, Ocean Casino Resort, temporarily halted its gaming operations after an accident on Monday morning.

Fire impacts Ocean Casino Resort, no guests or staff harmed

The premier hotel and casino destination confirmed in a press release that due to unforeseen circumstances it has stopped its gaming operations.

Ocean Casino Resort said that slots, table games and sports betting "will not be available at this time."

What’s more, the Atlantic City resort confirmed that its hotel will be operating in a limited capacity, while its restaurants, pools and other amenities are not affected.

In light of the accident, the hotel and casino resort cancelled a $30,000 Slot Tournament.

According to a report by the local media outlet, 10 Philadelphia, the Atlantic City Fire Department was called early on Monday after a fire erupted in a linen capture room.

Firefighters on site have successfully extinguished the fire that reportedly produced heavy smoke.

However, in that process, water damage impacted parts of the property, resulting in a ceiling collapse at Ocean Casino Resort’s lobby.Also affected were employee hallways and elevator shafts.

No guests or employees were harmed during the recent accident.

On Tuesday, Ocean Casino Resort resumed all gaming activities with a statement confirming that table games, slots, and sports betting are available once more.

"Ocean thanks its dedicated team members, partners, and the NJ Division of Gaming Enforcement for their swift response to restore operations," the leading hotel and casino resort wrote.
