Nevada welcomes you

What is the biggest casino in Vegas? There are different ways to measure any casino in Sin City and beyond that. For the purposes of this article, however, we have chosen to stick to a simple metric – ranking casinos in terms of the size of their gaming floor, as reported by official regulators.

By this token, the biggest casino in Las Vegas is Wynn. Wynn Las Vegas’ gaming floor occupies an area of 191,400 square feet, based on the latest data by the Nevada Gaming Control Board (NGCB), which publishes annual updates in its Nonrestricted Square Footage Resort.

How big is Wynn Las Vegas?

Wynn Las Vegas is frankly huge by any meaningful standard. The gaming floor sprawls on 191,400 square feet, which is already 19% larger than the second and third-biggest gaming floor in Las Vegas, MGM Grand’s (156,525 square feet) and Bellagio’s (156,000 square feet).

However, Wynn combines the gaming floors of the Encore and Wynn hotel towers, which host two separate gaming areas in what is essentially the same area, as confirmed by NGCB’s report.

To get a better idea of what to expect when you enter the property, here is a breakdown of the gaming spaces in terms of the games they host, ranked from largest to smallest:

  • Slot machines: 110,521 square feet
  • Table games: 66,194 square feet
  • Sportsbook: 7,678 square feet
  • Poker: 7,031 square feet

This makes Wynn Las Vegas stand out among all the properties on The Strip, and its dominance in terms of pure gaming floor space remains unchallenged to this very date. But how many games does the casino have to offer?

How many games does the biggest casino in Las Vegas have?

Once again, we have relied on official data to present you with the most accurate and up-to-date slot count. In this case, we have used the Nonrestricted Count Report provided by the NGCB.

This puts Wynn Las Vegas’s total slot count at 1,700 machines, most of which are multi-denomination options. Players can also enjoy more than 245 table games, along with 39 poker games. Slots are the most popular form of casino game in Nevada, and Wynn Las Vegas maintains a respectable stock.

Wynn Las Vegas’ official website suggests that the property has more than 1,800 slot machines, which may be true, but until an official report by the NGCB is published it is hard to verify this claim specifically.

Wynn Las Vegas may have the largest gaming floor, but it is far from reigning supreme in terms of overall game numbers. For example, the Palace Station Hotel & Casino is another Las Vegas Strip property, and it has almost as many officially reported slot machines, as 1,680.

Where Palace Station Hotel & Casino lacks though is in the number of total table games it can offer, only 45. Most other properties tend to offer games in roughly the same volume. The Gold Coast Hotel and Casino has 1,495 slot machines and 44 table games.

The rest of the information is available in the Nonrestricted Count Report available in the Statistics and Publications section. This section contains a breakdown of all Nevada casinos, including those in Clark County, but also well beyond.

Is Wynn Las Vegas the biggest casino in Nevada?

No, Wynn Las Vegas is not the largest casino in Las Vegas. By the same token we have used to compare Wynn Las Vegas to other properties, we cannot conclude that the property is largest in terms of gaming floor space. This title falls with another Valley Casino property, the Silver Legacy Resort Casino.

The casino offers 225,615 of square feet gaming, as well as 2,050 slots based on the NGCB’s most recent data published by the regulator. The casino, however, is well behind in terms of table games compared to the Wynn Las Vegas, with its 90 total table games.

Does Wynn have the largest casino floor in Las Vegas?

Yes, Wynn Las Vegas has the largest casino floor in Las Vegas. The property offers one of the largest selections of slot and table games in The Strip, and it similarly offers the biggest gaming space in the city.

The gaming spaces located on the property cater to players of all hues and backgrounds, offering them poker gameplay, slots, and table games. Wynn Las Vegas has one of the largest selections of table games in Clark County and does well in offering plenty of slot machines.

How long do casinos stay "the biggest" in Las Vegas?

The term "the biggest casino in Las Vegas" is a slippery one. No one casino stays at the top for very long because of the highly competitive nature of the market. The fact that Wynn Las Vegas has the biggest gaming floor does not mean that the casino offers the largest selection of table or slot games.

Therefore, truly pinpointing the largest casino in Las Vegas is partially subjective, but also the subject to an industry that is very competitive. Companies are ploughing millions into new developments and renovations, and they tend to leapfrog each other. For the time being, however, Wynn Las Vegas can enjoy the title of the biggest casino floor in Vegas.
