The leading company offering cross-platform games and technology, Light & Wonder (L&W), announced a new partnership in Pennsylvania with PENN Entertainment. Last week, the company revealed it became the state's first Operator Wide Area Progressive (OWAP) table games provider.
As a result, L&W installed 79 connected table games at four Hollywood Casino properties by PENN Entertainment. The venues that saw the addition of the connected tables in Pennsylvania include Penn National Race Course, The Meadows, York and Morgantown. Light & Wonder revealed that the connected tables at PENN's four Hollywood Casino properties are already ready to play. Still, it's important to mention that regulatory approval is still pending.
According to a statement released by L&W, there are many benefits that OWAP technology brings. The company explained that the technology "enables casino operators to link gaming titles across multiple properties using a centralized network, which keeps them under the same corporate umbrella."
What's more, L&W said that the innovative technology further boosts its plan to offer exciting experiences via great games for the land-based gambling sector. Thanks to OWAP technology, the company said that brick-and-mortar gambling operators can take the user experience and engagement to a new level by providing progressive jackpots.
BLAZING 777 BLACKJACK and Multi-Game Link Poker are among the games offered by L&W that currently leverage the unique OWAP technology. "Among its many benefits, OWAP technology allows casinos to capture greater progressive volume across titles, yielding larger and more frequent jackpots for casino players," the company explained.
Tony Frabbiele, Penn National Race Course's Vice President and General Manager, shared his excitement about the recent announcement. "We're delighted that Light & Wonder has brought their dynamic OWAP technology to PENN Entertainment's Hollywood Casinos in Pennsylvania and appreciate the cooperation from the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board in helping us offer these new products to our customers," he said.
Frabbiele said that the company is looking forward to seeing its customers in Pennsylvania enjoy Light & Wonder's leading technology. In conclusion, he said PENN is hoping to expand the reach of this technology to new regions.
Siobhan Lane, L&W's CEO of Gaming, revealed that the company is excited to deliver OWAP table games in Pennsylvania for PENN Entertainment. She added that the new technology marks the first OWAP table games network for the operator in the state. Last but not least, Lane said: "This is great news for the gaming industry in Pennsylvania, as it opens the door for other operators to drive player excitement across their casino networks."
