Jamul Casino, California's famous gaming and entertainment destination, is planned to undergo a significant expansion with additional amenities, including a luxury hotel, the Jamul Indian Village Development Corporation (JIVDC), a subsidiary of Jamul Indian Village (JIV) Tribe announced in a statement. On Tuesday, JIVDC confirmed in a statement that the construction of the new luxury hotel has already started.
The new hotel will deliver further amenities for visitors to the Jamul Casino. It is expected to feature some 200 rooms, as well as six-story parking that can fit 350 vehicles. What's more, for the convenience of the guests, casino visitors will be able to go in and out of the hotel via an enclosed pedestrian sky bridge that is climate-controlled.
Additional amenities of the Jamul Casino's new hotel will include a 4,800-square-foot restaurant that will provide the visitors with stunning views. What's more, the hotel will offer banquet facilities, a spa and a salon that has an outdoor deck, as well as retail outlets. Visitors can also benefit from a unique 11,000-square-foot rooftop pool deck that offers a bar, cabanas and jet hot tubs.
Mary Cheeks, Jamul Casino's President and General Manager, shared her excitement about the recent announcement saying: "The hotel will allow Jamul Casino to build on its success in Southern California's highly competitive gaming market."
She explained that many of the visitors of Jamul Casino showed support for the development of the hotel. Finally, Cheeks said: "The hotel, rooftop pool deck and lounge, and other new amenities will offer our guests a new set of experiences as a luxurious retreat in the beautiful Jamul landscape."
It was back in February 2014 when the groundbreaking of the Jamul Casino started. The process was closely monitored by JIVDC. Then, in October 2016, the property opened its doors to visitors. This helped create some 1,200 jobs for the region, a testament to the large scale of the project and the economic benefits it brings.
JIVDC constantly invested in Jamul Casino, ensuring new amenities are added for the convenience and entertainment of the guests. This saw the introduction of a new Poker Room, the Jamul Marketplace food court, as well as The Rooftop event venue.
JIVDC's Chairwoman of the Board and Chairwoman of the Jamul Indian Village, Erica M. Pinto, said: "In only a few short years since opening, I'm proud that we can capitalize on our success in operating the Jamul Casino with the development of a luxury hotel."
"The economic impact of the hotel will have far-reaching and long-term positive effects on our Tribal nation, state, and local economy," she said. Last but not least, Pinto acknowledged that the new hotel will help the venue expand further its amenities and at the same time create 1,000 construction jobs and 125 new permanent jobs.
