San Diego's newest and most genuinely entertaining casino, Jamul Casino, announced a management-level appointment on Monday. The company revealed it hired the services of Scott Lake to serve as its new Chief Marketing Officer (CMO). As CMO, Lake will be in charge of the venue's marketing activities.
In a statement released on August 29, 2022, Lake said: "I was drawn to Jamul Casino because of the outstanding leadership of both the Jamul Indian Village Tribe and the casino management." He outlined: "I'm impressed with the way this team has been able to build this property and its brand from the ground-up to become a regional leader in less than six years." In conclusion, Lake said that he is looking forward to the success the new collaboration will bring.
Mary Cheeks, the President and General Manager of Jamul Casino, acknowledged that Lake has significant leadership experience combined with analytical skills and innovative thinking. According to her, those are perfect skills that will help Jamul Casino expand further in the region. Last but not least, Cheeks said: "I'm excited to see what ideas Scott has to amp up our marketing efforts."
Overall, Lake has more than 25 years of professional experience within the gaming and hospitality industry. During that time, he held multiple senior marketing management-level roles and was in charge of leading casino and hotel properties around the world.
Lake has an MBA and BS in Hotel Administration from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. What's more, he is a Professional Certified Marketer in Digital Marketing and a Certified Digital Marking Professional.
Before joining Jamul Casino, Lake most recently served as a Managing Consultant at Kognitiv Corporation, a leading B2B technology company. For one year he played key roles in multiple leading projects for the company that included market research, economic models and more.
For eight years until 2020, Lake was a part of Sands China, the largest operator of integrated resorts in Macao. During his tenure at Sands China, he held multiple management-level roles such as Senior Vice President of Loyalty Marketing and Strategic Analysis, Vice President - Strategic Analysis and Vice President - Casino Marketing.
Lake's professional background includes 13 years with Caesars Entertainment, the largest casino-entertainment company in the US. As a part of the company, he held several leadership roles including Director, VIP Marketing and Director, National Casino Marketing.
It was back in 2016 when Jamul Casino opened its doors for visitors. The venue, located in Jamul, California, San Diego County is owned and operated by a wholly-owned enterprise of the Tribe called Jamul Indian Village Development Corporation (JIVDC). With a price tag of $430 million, the casino supports more than 1,000 permanent jobs in the region. Jamul Casino's floor offers 46 live table games, a separate poker room, as well as 1,700 slot machines. Visitors of the venue can also enjoy different bars and dining options.
