The European Gaming and Betting Association (EGBA) has confirmed the dates of the European Safer Gambling Week 2024 which will be taking place on November 18-24.
The seven-day event celebrates efforts in bolstering responsible gambling across the continent and brings together EGBA members in their shared goal of minimizing player harm and raising awareness for treatment, prevention, and intervention.
EGBA also wants to bring different operators and decision-makers together and foster a dialogue built around strengthening the gambling sector in terms of how the industry protects consumers.
These initiatives rope in regulators, support organizations, experts, and other stakeholders from the gambling sector.
EGBA is entering the fourth year of the initiative, with the event proving a success across the continent and specifically in member home markets, where the dialogue about safer gambling practices, and the overall efforts put into upholding the initiative have been significant.

The week-long initiative also leads to best practices and tips, as well as the sharing of crucial resources and services, the organization notes in a press release. EGBA Secretary General Maarten Haijer has welcomed the opportunity to see the event continue to tackle the pressing need for making gambling stronger.
"We’re pleased to announce the dates for this year’s European Safer Gambling Week and look forward to another impactful edition. The initiative is an important part of EGBA’s commitment to raising awareness about safer gambling and fostering a strong culture of player protection in Europe," Haijer explained.
He welcomed the opportunity to host the latest edition of the event in a bid to see participants exchange their increasing understanding of how to make gambling safer and work together in an effort to raise awareness for safer gambling, which Haijer argued, was a shared responsibility. "Together, we can raise the bar," he concluded optimistically.
