$320,000 donation will help RG initiatives

The two companies agreed to contribute a combined $320,000 donation to responsible gambling initiatives, highlighting their dedication to responsible gambling.

As a result, BetMGM and MGM Resorts will fund research through the International Center for Responsible Gaming, expand sponsorships with state problem gambling councils and contribute to the 1-800-GAMBLER helpline.

Notably, MGM Resorts will distribute responsible gaming (RG) messages through its industry-leading RG program developed by the British Columbia Lottery Corporation, GameSense.

Under the companies’ GameSense Advisor program, so far, they have certified more than 3,000 employees.

Throughout September, RGEM and GameSense responsible gaming messages will reach guests at land-based casinos, users of digital platforms, retail sportsbooks bettors.

QR codes that lead to responsible gambling tips and resources will encourage bettors to "take a time-out" via BetMGM Sportsbook.

Across MGM Resorts’ Las Vegas marquees, visitors will view responsible gambling messages, including GameSense and AGA content, encouraging sports bettors to "Play Smart from the Start," as explained in a press release from MGM Resorts.

The two companies will participate in additional RG initiatives

Besides the donation and a range of initiatives, BetMGM and MGM Resorts confirmed additional commitments to responsible gambling.

These include MGM Resorts’ plans to collaborate with the Nevada Council on Problem Gambling to organize educational booths at select Las Vegas properties in September.

At the same time, BetMGM will continue its partnership with EPIC Global Solutions with the goal of offering employees the opportunity to attend lived-experience sessions that offer insights into how problem gambling impacts people.

Both BetMGM and MGM Resorts will initiate guest and customer surveys on responsible gambling, as well as other RG initiatives.

Rhea Loney, Chief Compliance Officer at BetMGM, commented: "Player protection is a priority every day at BetMGM, and RGEM gives us an opportunity to highlight those efforts."

Moreover, the executive said: "Through GameSense messaging in professional sports venues, employee education, and investments in research and support services, we are helping players access the tools and resources they need to make informed decisions."
