The globally recognizable gaming, entertainment and hospitality company, MGM Resorts International, celebrated a major milestone highlighting its dedication to responsible gambling.
Only recently, the company announced it has now certified more than 2,000 people as GameSense Advisors.
Recognized as an industry-leading responsible gambling program, GameSense provides educational resources and helps identify potentially risky gambling behavior.
The program was developed and licensed to MGM Resorts by the British Columbia Lottery Corporation (BLCL) in 2017.
Currently, GameSense is available to MGM Resorts guests at retail venues, as well as BetMGM online customers.
The latest achievement comes after an employee training session that took place at MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Hitting this important milestone, MGM Resorts now has more than 2,000 employees trained as GameSense Advisors.
Notably, those employees hold a range of different roles, considering they are working in more than 30 company departments.
Thanks to those organized training sessions, different team members received research-based and comprehensive responsible gambling training.
This enables them to proactively promote responsible play and, at the same time, address potential gambling-related problems and concerns via GameSense.
GameSense Advisors can play a major role in identifying risky gambling behavior, escalating concerns and providing customers with adequate support and access to local resources.
In addition to GameSense, MGM Resorts continues to support the American Gaming Association's Play Smart from the Start campaign and Have A Game Plan.Bet Responsibly. initiative.
The two aforementioned programs provide vital education to new and experienced bettors on how they can make informed decisions, while highlighting the importance of using licensed, regulated operators.
Garrett Farnes, MGM Resorts' Executive Director of Responsible Gambling, shared his excitement about the latest GameSense achievement, Casino Guru News learned from a press release.
"This accomplishment is made possible by leadership and team members who genuinely want to make a difference," he said.
Moreover, Farnes pointed out: "We're committed to a culture of responsibility that turns every interaction into an opportunity to build trust and provide a level of hospitality that truly matters."
Stephen Martino, MGM Resorts' SPV and Chief Compliance Officer, added: "Our investment in GameSense ensures an approach where responsibility is woven into the heart of the MGM Resorts brand."
Last but not least, he acknowledged the importance of GameSense, which empowers the company's employees to play a key role in the promotion of responsible gambling.
