Just in time for Responsible Gambling Education Month (RGEM) this year, Hard Rock International (HRI) and Seminole Gaming reaffirmed its dedication to responsible play, player education and advancing informed decision-making.
The company continues to strengthen its responsible gambling program, PlayersEdge, highlighting its dedication to responsible play and player protection.
September is recognized as RGEM under an annual campaign led by the American Gaming Association (AGA), the United States gambling industry association.
Throughout the month each ear, AGA, joined by gambling operators, responsible gambling advocates and other companies and organizations within the gambling industry, promote gambling literacy, raise awareness of problem gambling resources and evaluate team member training.
In 2021, Hard Rock Casino and Seminole Gaming integrated responsible gambling education as part of team member training.
Since then, the company has been advancing and improving its responsible gambling team member training with the help of researchers, healthcare professionals and responsible gambling advocates.
HRI and Seminole Gaming’s efforts to continue to improve their responsible gambling capabilities include a "Chance" Campaign, available across Hard Rock Casinos throughout RGEM.
This initiative helps players better understand the concept of chance, breaking common misconceptions that chance can be predicted or influenced.
At the heart of the "Chance" Campaign is a simple message that tells the players they can’t control the odds or chance when gambling, but they can control how they play.
Further responsible gambling efforts include the foundation of the Better Gambling Forum, with HRI and Seminole Gaming being a founding member.
At the same time, the company continues to improve PlayersEdge with the help of implementing leading research into the program.
"Working with Dr. Michael Wohl and his team at Carleton University, five Hard Rock and Seminole Gaming casinos will participate in research to better understand the experiences and perspectives of casino supervisors and managers who interact with players," a press release from HRI confirms.
Paul Pellizzari, HRI and Seminole Gaming’s Vice President of Global Social Responsibility, spoke about the importance of responsible gambling.
"Responsible gambling is about empowering players, team members and guests with knowledge, research and support so they can make informed choices that work for them," he said.
"Through PlayersEdge, we continue to invest in innovative education, research and training initiatives that help advance positive play while strengthening our ability to support guests who may need assistance," Pellizzari said in conclusion.
