The global entertainment and gaming company, American Gaming Systems (AGS), announced Tuesday that it hired the industry veteran David Jacques Farahi. As a part of AGS, Farahi will join the company's Board of Directors and serve on its Nominating and Governance committee. He will also be a part of AGS' Compensation and Audit committee.
Overall, Farahi has more than two decades of experience within the gaming industry. He has a BA in Economics and International Studies from Northwestern University. Additionally, Farahi has an MBA in Finance and Real Estate from Columbia Business School.
Farahi shared his excitement in a statement released on July 12, 2022. He pointed out that he respects the company's dedicated team of professionals and its CEO, David Lopez. "I'm honored to be joining their board at such an exciting time for the business," he added.
According to him, the company has a unique approach to its partners which helps it deliver products that fit the needs of the players. Farahi said: "I have long admired the passion, grit, and ingenuity of the AGS team." In conclusion, he revealed that he is looking forward to collaborating with the professionals at AGS, which will ultimately bring benefits to the company's customers and shareholders.
David Lopez, AGS' CEO and President, added: "David is a seasoned industry executive with extensive experience in both the gaming operator and gaming regulator space." Lopez acknowledged that Farahi has "a proven track record of leading teams to operational improvements, integrating and scaling a substantial acquisition, and effectively communicating with the investment community." Last but not least, AGS' CEO predicted that Farahi will help the company strengthen its partnership with existing operators and also boost its growth and operational efficiency.
Besides being a part of AGS, Farahi is currently a part of Quick Custom Intelligence, a leading analytics company, where he serves as Executive Chairman and Advisory Board Member. What's more, he is also an Adjunct Professor at Metropolitan State University in Denver.
Farahi's professional background includes 14 years at Monarch Casino and Resort. From 2012 through 2021, he served as Chief Operating Officer at the venue. Before that, between 2007 and 2012, Farahi held the position of Director of Investor Relations. While he held the position of Chief Operating Officer, he was responsible for the company's business development, investor relationships and oversaw the operation of two resorts with more than 2,000 employees.
Before that, between January 2004 and August 2005, Farahi worked as an Analyst for HSBC Bank PLC. More recently, for nearly 7 years until September 2021, he also held the role of President of the Colorado Gaming Association.
