The leading French esports club, founded in 2013 by Fabien "Neo" Devide, Nicolas Maurer, Corentin "Gotaga" Houssein and Kevin "BrokyBrawks" Georges, Team Vitality, announced its intention to withdraw from the StarCraft II (SC2) esports scene.
Confirmed last week, the announcement comes after Team Vitality entered the popular real-time strategy (RTS) game back in 2024.
To compete in SC2 professionally, the esports organization created a roster consisting of four South Korean players with significant experience.
Team Vitality's SC2 roster included Cho "Maru" Seong-ju, Park "Zoun" Han-sol, Kim "Ryung" Dong Won and Choi "CranK" Jae-won, who served as General Manager.
In the two years, Team Vitality recorded significant success on the SC2 scene, dominating in a range of tournaments.
Team Vitality's announcement comes on the heels of the announcement about the dropping of SC2 from the Esports World Cup 2026.
The unexpected confirmation that the RTS title won't be part of the upcoming World Cup came earlier this year, leaving many fans and teams disappointed.
Today we announce that we will be leaving the SC2 scene.
