A New Year's Millionaire Raffle in Virginia awarded five players a prize of $1m each, while seven lucky players scored a $100,000 prize each.
Earlier this week, the Virginia Lottery, uncovered details regarding one of the fortunate winners who scored a million-dollar prize.
The lucky winner, Jacqueline Mangus, a nurse from Bedford County, purchased her New Year's Millionaire Raffle ticket on Christmas Eve.
The woman bought ticket #081604 at Lake Mart & Deli, on 4795 Scruggs Road in Moneta.
As usual, Mangus kept her winning ticket in one of the safest spots, in her Bible.
Speaking to Lottery officials, the woman recalled the day she realized she had won a huge prize.
The nurse was preparing to go to work when she heard on the news that one of Virginia's New Year's Millionaire Raffle winning tickets was purchased in Moneta.
Mangus then went on to check the safe place where she kept the ticket, in her Bible, and was pleasantly surprised that she was holding one of the tickets winning a $1m prize.
"I was tickled to death," the fortunate woman told an official with the Virginia Lottery.
Every lottery player has a plan about what they will do once they win a big jackpot.
Not unexpectedly, Mangus had a plan too: to go to work just like any other day.
Undoubtedly, this was an exciting day for the fortunate woman who scored one out of a total of five $1m prizes each.
Four more prizes of $1m went to lucky customers who bought tickets in Ashburn, Henrico, Herndon and Fishersville.
As noted, seven more tickets granted $100,000 prizes each from the Virginia Lottery's New Year's Millionaire Raffle.
Winning tickets of $100,000 each were bought in Amelia, Charlottesville, Midlothian, Marshall, Tazewell, Yorktown and Woodstock.
Separately, 1,000 lucky ticket holders also won prizes of $500 each.
