Jackpocket has announced that a player who bought a ticket through the courier app has won $4,000,000 from the eponymous Monopoly Doubler game in Massachusetts.
The ticket is also the largest single winning scratch ticket to have been sold by the company, marking an important milestone for the company.
However, Jackpocket previously sold the $83.5m ticket in Texas, which led to a resident dealing with the state for several months amid a backlash against courier services.
Ultimately, the state acknowledged the win as legitimate and paid out the winner her amount as per the law, but Jackpocket has since suspended operations in the state.
Jackpocket is now a property of DraftKings, which similarly celebrated the victory. Jackpocket changed ownership and became a DraftKings property last year in a $750m deal.
DraftKings ' SVP, Lottery Pete Sullivan, welcomed the development and hailed it as an important milestone in the firm’s lottery courier operations.
"It’s an exciting milestone for our company and a testament to the enthusiasm our customers have shown for the scratch ticket feature, which offers another seamless way to participate in the lottery," Sullivan explained.
The win was secured on August 12, with the ticket costing the lucky soul $10 to purchase and grab the top prize. Winning the top prize is also no mean feat, as it comes at odds of 1 in 3,780,000.
The platform has been making waves all over the United States. In January, a person grabbed a $112,000,000 jackpot from the Mega Millions draw after they purchased their ticket through the platform.
