Lottery player wins AU$1m from Saturday Gold Lotto

An incredibly lucky man was lost for words after numbers he has been using for a long time brought him a life-changing million-dollar lottery jackpot.

That’s the story of one Brisbane Queensland, Australia, man, who scored a division one prize from a recent Saturday Gold Lotto drawing.

Six fortunate players hit division one

The fortunate player purchased his winning System 7 entry at Oxley News, The Station Shopping Center, Shop 7B on 133-157 Oxley Station Road in Oxley.

The man, whose identity wasn’t publicly revealed, entered Saturday Gold Lotto’s draw 4703 on Saturday, August 15, 2026.

Interestingly, the Oxley man was among a total of six division one winners across Australia.

Each of the division one winning entries is entitled to a life-changing AU$1,086,418.14 ($770,000) prize.

Since the start of the year, Brisbane’s west suburbs have seen a total of four major lottery prizes, resulting in a collective payout of more than AU$43m ($30.5m).

Oxley Newsmanager Naomi Sampersaid in an interview for The Lott that it is incredibly exciting to sell a division one winning entry.

"We’ve now sold four division one winning entries and we’re so happy to know we’ve been able to help someone, especially in these tough times," she explained.

Samper congratulated the winner and said she hopes this life-changing prize will enable him to make his dreams come true.

"That’s just great"

Once the fortunate Oxley man was contacted by The Lott with the good news, he was lost for words.

The man thanked the lottery and said: "Gosh, that’s fantastic. That’s just great."

The lucky player admitted that he had no idea that he had won one of the division one prizes from Saturday Lotto, saying this makes the news about the unexpected windfall even more exciting.

"I’ve used these same numbers for a long time now. This is such a shock," the Oxley man added.

Overwhelmed with excitement, the lucky player said that it will take some time for the thought of winning to sink in.

Asked about his plans for his newfound fortune, the kind-hearted man immediately thought of his friends and family.

Finally, the Oxley man said that this lottery windfall will make life easier for him.
