A couple had a sleepless weekend with lots of celebrations after scoring a life-changing lottery jackpot.
That’s the story of a duo from Ingle Farm, South Australia, who hit division one from a recent Saturday X Lotto draw.
The lucky couple decided to enter Saturday X Lotto’s drawing on August 8, 2026.
The drawing in question produced only two division one winning entries, and one of the tickets belonged to the Adelaide residents.
Each of the division one winning entries from Saturday X Lotto’s draw 4701 is entitled to a whopping AU$3,164,474.87 ($2.24m).
The fortunate couple’s 5-game System 7 entry was purchased online via The Lott’s official website.
In an interview with an official with The Lott, the couple admitted that they were aware of the life-changing prize they won and awaited the lottery’s call.
What’s interesting about their win is how they entered Saturday X Lotto’s recent drawing.
The husband admitted that after a small win from Weekday Windfall on Friday, he decided to enter Saturday X Lotto’s drawing scheduled for the next day.
"It was a very last-minute decision. I had a little win on Friday night from a Weekday Windfall ticket, so I decided to put it into a Saturday entry," he explained.
The fortunate man added that after the Saturday X Lotto drawing, he was in front of the computer and saw that they won a life-changing prize.
"We just about had a heart attack. Then we celebrated," the winning husband added.
When the couple was contacted on Monday, the husband admitted that they had been waiting for the lottery to call them.
"We’re very good today because we’ve been waiting for your call! The phone has been next to me all weekend," he admitted.
Interestingly, the Ingle Farm couple scored division two six times, increasing their total prize to AU$3,220,510.97 ($2.27m).
Asked about their plans for their newfound fortune, the couple acknowledged that the prize is completely life-changing.
The wife admitted that the first thing on their list is wiping off the mortgage on their house.
"We’d love new cars also. It’s life-changing," the incredibly fortunate woman added.
