Sleepless woman tries digital instant game, wins $150K prize

A woman who was having trouble sleeping decided to play a digital instant game and won a sweet six-figure prize.

That’s the story of Iredell County woman who won a tier-two prize from the North Carolina Education Lottery’s digital instant game, Tumbling Treasures.

A surprise $150,000 win

Only recently, the Mooresville woman couldn’t sleep and decided to give the digital instant game a try.

Opening Tumbling Treasures on her phone, she tried her luck with $30 play.

"It was late at night and I was just fiddling around playing when it happened," the winner said in an interview for an official with the Lottery.

The $30 play on the newly launched Tumbling Treasures suddenly brought the woman a life-changing $150,000 prize.

Initially, the woman was in disbelief, considering the six-figure lottery windfall that came her way all of a sudden.

"I just didn’t believe it at the time because this is not a normal occurrence," she revealed.

As the thought of winning the $150,000 was sinking in, the player claimed her newfound fortune earlier this week, visiting the North Carolina Education Lottery headquarters in Raleigh.

After the relevant state and federal taxes, the winner’s bank account increased by $108,000 and change.

The Mooresville woman admitted that it is incredibly exciting to win such a prize.

Asked about her plans for her newfound fortune, the woman said she will do some home renovations.

Odds of winning $150K are 1 in 2 million

The North Carolina Education Lottery rolled out the Tumbling Treasures digital instant game only recently.

The popular game features a top prize of $300,000 and the price per play varies from $0.50 up to $30.00.

The overall odds of winning any prize from the popular digital instant game are 1 in 3.74.

On the other hand, winning $150,000, just like the prize won by the Iredell County woman, has odds of 1 in 2,000,000.

The odds of taking down Tumbling Treasures’ $300,000 top prize are also 1 in 2,000,000.

Besides Tumbling Treasures, the Lottery offers dozens of other digital instant games, available exclusively via its official app or on its website.
