The player, a Burlington resident, decided to try the North Carolina Education Lottery’s Wheel of Bonuses game.

Interestingly, on a $10 play, the winner scored a life-changing prize.

Tapping into the digital instant game, the fortunate player saw his $10 bet turn into a jackpot for a $110,804 payday.

Recalling the moment, the player said to an official from the Lottery that he was incredibly surprised by the once-in-a-lifetime jackpot.

Immediately after scoring the hefty prize, the player decided to give his wife the good news.

"She was like, ‘Are you serious?’," the player joked, recalling the moment.

Earlier this week, the Burlington man visited the North Carolina Education Lottery headquarters to claim his newfound fortune.

After the relevant state and federal taxes, the player’s bank account increased by $73,150.

Asked about his future plans, the fortunate player admitted that he already has something in mind.

With his newfound fortune, the Alamance County man said that he plans to buy a new car and go on vacation.

Education programs in the county where the lucky man lives have benefited from $9.8m from lottery funds in 2025.

The winner beat the odds of 1 in 3,1m to win the jackpot
