Slotegrator has published a new ebook available to download for free from the website, in which it has taken a closer look at how the prediction market has evolved, traced its growth and expansion, and explained why players have found the sector appealing.
This comes at a time when tech and data companies are inking fresh partnerships with sector leaders, such as the recent tie-up between Sportradar, a sports tech company and Kalshi, the de facto leader in the space in the United States and one of the biggest prediction markets worldwide.
Noting the sector’s humble beginnings, with trading volume from $500m to $64bn in the space of only three years, Slotegrator dived into analyzing what has contributed to the vertical’s popularity, how prediction markets are disrupting the modern betting landscape, and even offered guidance on what the right moment to launch a prediction market platform is.
"Today, the audience's attention shifts in real time across platforms, and digital experiences evolve constantly. If you’re not actively tracking where engagement is moving, you’re not just behind the trend — you’re already losing relevance in the market," explained Olga Ivanchik, COO at Slotegrator.
According to Slotegrator, the popularity of prediction markets has been tied to a wave of young players who are increasingly aware of trading and financial markets, pointed as the biggest driver of the sector. However, players care about other factors.
Prediction markets are essentially P2P exchanges, which are often seen as more transparent, at a time when a substantial number of players cannot be sure whether traditional sportsbooks can effectively protect their data.
Slotegrator remarked that opinion-based betting has allowed users to trade on literally any event - whether that is politics or some other development in the world, including event markets.
The experience is more interactive, dynamic, and fair, the company notes, with the odds not set centrally, but fluctuating based on supply and demand and players betting against each other.
"This transition eliminates the old conflict of interest and gives us a more transparent, equitable, and stimulating experience where value is defined by the market itself," Slotegrator Product Owner Maksym Shtun.
Furthermore, the ebook dives deeper into key figures, regulator notes, and expert comments, including comparisons of prediction market mechanics and classic sportsbooks, analysis of relevant psychological factors, breakdown of exactly how prediction markets generate revenue, and more.
