The leading business-to-business (B2B) supplier of internet gambling software-as-a-service (SaaS) solutions that power the US retail gambling sector and experienced B2B sports technology operator, GAN, confirmed a senior-level appointment. The company revealed that Seamus McGill was designated as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO). The latest appointment marks an important announcement for him as he held the same role in an interim capacity.

Now, as GAN's new CEO, McGill will oversee strategic processes, including the closing of the company's transaction with Sega Sammy Creation, Inc. Moreover, in his capacity as CEO, he will oversee strategic processes related to the company's growth and expansion in different markets across the globe.

McGill initially joined the company back in 2014. Back in September, he was named Interim CEO after Dermot Smurfit, GAN's CEO at the time, confirmed his intention to step down from the role after 21 years. While initially, McGill was selected as Interim CEO, the C-suite at GAN acknowledged his extensive experience and deep understanding of the company's operations. Ultimately, this led to his recent appointment as permanent CEO.

In a statement, McGill shared his excitement by saying: "It’s an honor to be named GAN’s CEO and I’d like to thank David and the board for their vote of confidence." Finally, he pointed out: "Going forward, our focus remains unchanged. We remain committed to a timely closing of our transaction with Sega Sammy to maximize value for all of our stakeholders."

David Goldberg, GAN's Chairman of the Board, was similarly thrilled regarding the latest senior-level appointment. "Seamus has the full backing of the board of directors and we are confident that his experience and leadership make him the most qualified candidate to be GAN’s next CEO," he explained.

Goldberg acknowledged McGill's lengthy tenure with the company, saying that this experience enabled him to understand better GAN's strategy, customers and products. Finally, Goldberg said: "On behalf of the entire Board of Directors, I’d like to congratulate Seamus on his appointment and we look forward to his success."

Back in December, GAN announced a collaboration with Red Rock Resorts. Under the terms of the agreement, the company agreed to supply the operator with its GAN Sports and GameSTACK2.0 Platform solutions. Ultimately, the trial of sportsbook solutions from GAN seeks to elevate the experiences for customers of Station Casinos' properties. The leading sports betting solutions offer a wide range of functionalities, including a single integrated wallet, among others.
