DraftKings has not been the only sportsbook in the United States to be going after assets at an expedited pace. FanDuel, a sworn rival, has completed the acquisition of BeyondPlay on Monday, naming the latter company’s Chief Executive Officer as VP and part of the sportsbook’s larger family.

BeyondPlay is now officially recognized as FanDuel asset

Commenting on these developments, Karolina Pelc, ex-BeyondPlay Founder and CEO, was appointed to the position of VP BeyondPlay at FanDuel, as she now acclimatizes to the change in leadership and focuses on her company's strategic significance as part of FanDuel.

"There is something pretty special to see the brand name you once came up with, with no fancy marketing agencies but just pen, paper and your dreams of "what could be", to now feature in your job title, working for one of the most influential Gaming companies in the world and the #1 Gaming Operator in the US," Pelc noted.

The deal comes shortly after the arrangement was announced in February with both parties agreeing to a quick delivery. The sum of the deal is still subject to speculation and has never been officially confirmed by either of the parties involved, nor by any sources.

BeyondPlay itself was launched in 2021 and it amassed a respected workforce of 40 dedicated employees in a fairly short period of time, quickly putting it on FanDuel’s radar.

The company is focused on the development of next-gen multiplayer engagement platforms that offer players the opportunity to experience games from familiar suppliers in new and exciting ways.

At a time when engagement and retention are the name of the game, FanDuel has found value in acquiring what it considers an important asset to help edge out competitors such as BetMGM and DraftKings.

BeyondPlay offers both a jackpot management system and a social gaming tool and it is capable of delivering tailored and customized campaigns for the needs of its players.

BeyondPlay to empower FanDuel’s iGaming push

The company has itself cultivated an impressive list of partners, including LeoVegas, Casumo, ComeOn, and others, and the company holds multiple licenses from leading jurisdictions, which will allow FanDuel to benefit from this reach as well.

BeyondPlay holds licenses in Ontario, Canada, the United Kingdom, Malta, and Sweden. The Maltese license, issued by the Malta Gaming Authority, covers other territories and not Malta specifically.

Overall, FanDuel hopes that BeyondPlay will enable it to push its iGaming operators across the North American market first.
