Global sports betting, gaming and interactive entertainment group Entain announced that its digital transformation of UK retail outlets continues as planned. The company confirmed last week that it celebrated the launch of its 100th Digi-Hub.
The digital transformation involves Entain's flagship betting shops in the UK, Coral, as well as Ladbrokes. The latest announcement celebrated the launch of the 100th digital hub, launched in Muirhouse, Scotland.
The innovative Digi-Hubs offer a new type of betting experience that differs from traditional sports wagering. The technology, as described by Entain, helps create "contemporary, digital-first spaces dubbed the shops of the future."
Bettors at Digi-Hub locations can benefit from more digital solutions, as well as best-in-class sports gaming and betting terminals offering interactive displays. This creates a new, more vibrant and dynamic experience for the customers.
Will Thorp, Entain's Strategy Director - UK Retail, shared his excitement about the latest milestone in a statement saying: "We're thrilled to announce the opening of our 100th Digi-Hub." He explained that the company remains committed to delivering new digital experiences for its retail customers. According to Thorp, those solutions further help reaffirm Entain's leadership position within the betting and gaming vertical.
He added: "Entain sits at the very heart of a fast-paced, ever-evolving world of entertainment, and to continue providing positive player experiences, it's crucial that we continue to innovate and excite our customers." Finally, Thorp explained: "Digi-Hubs help us do just that and have been a huge hit."
Besides convenience and a more dynamic experience, Digi-Hubs help by attracting a new generation of players. The company explained that thanks to innovation and digital transformation, its betting shops are able to attract a crowd that is used to online activities.
At the same time, the Digi-Hubs help boost visitation for the retail sector following the global pandemic. "The milestone moment for Digi-Hubs comes as UK retail continues its resurgence after the lockdowns of the pandemic," explained Entain.
Without any doubt, the 100th Digi-Hub launch marks an important moment for the company. This is because it complements its goal to expand Digi-Hubs to 200 locations by the end of next year.
Back in 2019, Entain announced the first trial launch of Digi-Hub. Since then, the digital transformation of UK retail has been an important objective for the company. Given the set goal, that process will continue and Entain admitted that it has already seen the positive impact of Digi-Hubs. Since the first trial, the company has seen more than 10 million sports wagers and more than 1 million gaming sessions completed via Digi-Hubs.
