Bragg Gaming Group announces restructuring, cash generation plans, and 19% workforce layoffs

Bragg Gaming Group has become the latest sector company to pursue a tighter overall workforce in order to strengthen its core operations, focus on specific businesses, and achieve a stronger cash-on-hand balance.

Bragg Gaming Group slashes workforce, steers towards cash generation

Announcing the changes, Bragg Gaming Group said that it has undertaken a further set of organizational and operational measures to sharpen its strategic focus and accelerate its path to a sustainable cash-generative venture, with an immediate decision to slash its global workforce by 19%, resulting in approximately €6m in annualized cash savings once the measure is fully implemented.

This is the second time Bragg Gaming Group has embarked on headcount and operations-trimming, with the previous restructuring expected to yield €4.5m in annualized savings. Together, the cost-cutting restructuring could yield as much as €10.5m the company confirmed.

The restructuring will come at a cost as well, with the company confirming that it will incur €0.6m in short-term costs. The company believes that it is set to become a "leaner and more focused organization."

Bragg’s boss believes in future success following announcements

Commenting on this, Bragg Gaming Group Chief Executive Officer Matevž Mazij has commented on the current developments and why they have been necessary.

"We believe that the steps we took at the start of the year were the right ones for the business, and today we are going further. These measures are designed to deliver focus, discipline, execution and cash generation. By combining a more focused organization with the acceleration of our AI-First transformation, we are structurally improving our costs while continuing to protect the technology, content and people that drive our competitive advantage."

Mazij confirmed that the latest restructuring was designed to build upon the previous one in January, and that it was going to move the company closer to its goal of sustained cash generation.
