The global sports betting and gaming operator, Betsson Group, announced the launch of a registered public benefit foundation called Betsson Foundation.

The effort highlights the company's dedication to supporting charitable, community and sports-related initiatives through one organization.

Betsson to generate more positive impact

Across its lengthy history, Betsson Group has offered support to various organizations and local communities in markets across the globe.

Besides organizing grassroots projects and employee-led fundraising initiatives, the company has held a central role in the development of CSR initiatives thanks to its extensive partnerships with recognizable sports figures and leading football clubs.

Building on this strong foundation, Betsson, through Betsson Foundation, will now generate even more positive impact.

Thanks to the Foundation, the company, its employees, partners, and local organizations will be able to collaborate and coordinate social impact activities.

In a press release, Betsson confirmed that the Betsson Foundation has been incorporated in Malta as a separate legal entity.

The latter operates under a framework that includes the founding company, a Supervisory Council, and a Board of Administrators.

This comprehensive structure offers oversight and accountability, while enabling the Foundation to support philanthropic projects and make a difference.

Notably, sport will continue to hold a central role in Betsson Foundation's future work, a testament to the company's long-standing engagement and partnerships.

"The Foundation will seek to leverage Betsson's global sports partnerships to expand the reach and impact of its initiatives," a press release confirms.

The foundation strengthens Betsson's ability to support people, organizations and programs

Jonna Danlund, Betsson's Director of ESG, spoke about the importance of the new public benefit foundation.

"Through the Betsson Foundation, we aim to create lasting positive impact by supporting worthy causes, fostering long-term partnerships, and bringing together initiatives that strengthen communities across our locations," she said.

Jesper Svensson, CEO of Betsson Operations, was similarly excited.

He acknowledged the role of sport and community engagement, describing the two as part of Betsson's DNA.

"The launch of the Betsson Foundation strengthens our ability to support the people, programs and organizations making a positive difference in our communities," Svensson added.

In conclusion, the executive said that the launch of the Betsson Foundation will enable the company to work closely with athletes and sports clubs with the goal of achieving meaningful community initiatives.
