SOFTSWISS is proud to present its latest 2027 iGaming Trends report, focusing on identifying key industry trends, shifts, and narratives. The report is a colossal work that has surveyed over 500 experts and analyzed more than 480,000 media headlines. The report was co-produced with WorldGaming, formerly Clarion Gaming.
The report was released at stand B501 at SBC Summit Lisbon 2026, and the company separately hosted the panel discussion "2027 iGaming Trends Report | Five Years of IGaming: Which Trends Endured, Which Faded and What Comes Next" at 16:10 on Tuesday, September 29.
The fifth anniversary of the report includes Tier-1 case studies, real-life examples of business growth, market expansion, and performance, with the latest report including the "Beyond iGaming" chapter which focuses on comparing the sector with e-commerce, sports, film, gaming, streaming, e-pharma, and crypto in terms of market size, growth, regulatory load, and digital maturity.
This year’s report also brought in input from non-iGaming experts, including Amazon Web Services, which co-authored analysis of how AI is moving from pilots into production across gaming, betting, sports, media, and fintech.
H2 Gambling Capital offered a dataset on GGR growth as well as market trends for key regions and action points for businesses that they should keep on their radar. Not least, Pentasia looked into another important aspect of the experience - hiring outlook, focusing on the skills and roles that are likely to shape the sector’s future.
Alexandra Kavelich, Deputy CMO at SOFTSWISS, commented: "The next competitive advantage in iGaming will not come from content alone."
"It will come from regulatory readiness, secure payment journeys, intelligent risk management, relevant customer communication, and platforms that can respond quickly to changing regulations."
"Fintech, e-commerce, and streaming have already set the standard in these areas. iGaming operators that adapt those lessons effectively will be better positioned to grow responsibly and profitably."
Robin Harrison, Global Content Director B2B at WorldGaming, also commented on the report and how tax, payments, competition, and player behavior vary significantly across markets.
"Scale can get you into morejurisdictions, but it definitely doesn’t guarantee success. The next generation of leading operators is the one that understands where the local friction is, how to ease it, and execute effectively," Harrison added.
