After leading the UK Gambling Commission (UKGC), the country’s gambling watchdog, for 10 years, Tim Miller confirmed his decision to step down earlier this year.
Now, Gaming Compliance International (GCI), the leader in gaming compliance, advertising and media content monitoring, unveiled the appointment of Miller to its team of Advisors.
Joining GCI, Miller assumes the key role of Strategic Advisor, bringing significant regulatory experience and an independent perspective that are expected to be vital for the company’s future.
Most recently, Miller held the role of Executive Director of Policy and Research at the UKGC.
Overall, he has 10 years of regulatory experience within the UK gambling industry.
In light of this tenure, Miller recently founded a consulting practice that focuses on gaming regulation called GamReg Consulting.
GCI will be among GamReg Consulting’s first customers, as Miller and GCI’s CEO, Matt Holt, will closely collaborate.
As Strategic Advisor for GCI, Miller brings hands-on experience, regulatory insight and independent advice that is expected to be pivotal for the company’s future partnerships and product development.
Miller shared his excitement about the new collaboration with GCI, Casino Guru News learned from a press release.
"Partnering with the GCI team as they provide tools that regulators need around market intelligence makes complete sense as I launch GamReg Consulting," he said.
Moreover, Miller pointed out: "I know firsthand that the tools regulators need to protect their citizens continue to evolve, and I will make sure that GCI and its clients stay a step ahead in optimizing their markets."
Matt Holt, GCI’s CEO, was similarly optimistic about the new collaboration with GamReg Consulting and the former UKGC Executive Director.
"As GCI works to become the go-to provider of market intelligence for gaming regulators worldwide, adding someone with Tim Miller's expertise and reputation shows regulators that we understand the challenges they face, and that we are building the tools and services that will leave them better equipped than ever to meet those challenges," Holt said.
Finally, the executive pointed to Miller’s dedication and efforts demonstrated over the last 10 years at the UKGC, highlighting that it is thrilling to have an expert of his rank join GCI as Strategic Advisor and help shape the company’s future.
Recently, GCI produced a new report for the Campaign for Fairer Gambling, looking into the growing unregulated online gambling market across Europe.
