BetBlocker, a gambling harm prevention app, has been enjoying a steady uptake in enthusiasm and support, as attested by Company Founder and Trustee Duncan Garvie, who recently spoke to Casino Guru News, reflecting on the long way his company has come since it launched in 2017.

BetBlocker adds Portugues language support to the RG app

The launch of the official Portuguese language app has been shared by the company on its LinkedIn page and presented to stakeholders at the SBC Summit in Lisbon.

The company reaffirmed the message that Garvie shared in his interview, arguing that every time the company translates its help resources into a new language, it sees a spike in traffic and people seeking help.

With the Portuguese version of the game, this means that BetBlocker can now potentially help more than 200m worldwide.

BetBlocker has been working on growing its footprint and building a robust solution that can help the company stand as a bulwark against gambling harm not only in the anglophone sphere of influence but across diverse markets where people need help even more urgently.

Garvie has welcomed the arrival of this new version, praising the app’s qualities as an anonymous and free-blocking software that can help people onboard and get their gambling under control in a matter of minutes.

"The truth is that most of the people who need BetBlocker’s support are in a state of crisis. They are not able to think clearly and trying to set up a tool like BetBlocker, with instructions that they either don’t or only partially understand, presents a significant barrier to accessing that support. Each time we launch BetBlocker in a new language we see user engagement in the language jump by between four and ten times," Garvie mused.

Enthusiasm grows as BetBlocker ties the knot with the biggest industry names

BetBlocker has reaped a string of successes over the past several months. The company has teamed up with Casino Guru to enhance player protection, but it also sought to work with some of the biggest names in the B2B and B2C gambling industry, including Stake.com and DraftKings.

BetBlocker has similarly teamed up with Coolbet, offering its Spanish language support version for the online casino brand. BetBlocker has also secured financial backing from Aristocrat, a leading gambling company, with roots in multiple verticals.
