Drew Allar is back after a short injury, with the NFL Draft QB prospect looking to demonstrate his work ethic and throw seven days a week if he could. After pulling off a steadfast NFL Combine performance last month, Allar is now looking to ensure that his credentials are clearly defined in the minds of any NFL franchise that may be looking for him.

Therefore, his appearance at Penn State’s Pro Day was an important part of making his commitment to his career clear. Commenting on the day, Allar had this to add, also reassuring any onlooker that his rehab is going well:

"Whenever there’s a chance to throw, I’m going to throw. I would throw seven times a week if I could for every team in the league. I’ve always been like that, and just trying to show teams my work ethic through my rehab process."

Penn State’s Pro Day is a scripted event where NFL personnel pour in to scout for potential team members, with the QB position clearly one of the most important. Allar said that he had help from people he played with and was close to, who helped him script his own performance.

Commenting on this, Allar argued that he had specifically looked to show situations and things that scouts would be looking for specifically. Allar is already in playing form, he argues, after breaking his ankle and missing his final six games.

Yet, he used Pro Day to say that he could have been playing two weeks prior to Penn State’s event already. The injury, though, has served as an important rite of passage, preparing the young prospect for a life of pro football where injury rehabs are frequent.

Penn State prospect showcases work ethic and recovery progress

"It really just taught me how much I love football, like not being able to go out and play the last six games really hurt, but I tried to do my best to contribute to winning," he explained.

"This is a job, but it’s also my passion. I love doing it," Allar noted. There are lots of excellent prospects that NFL teams can pick from this season. Whether it is Ty Simpson, Cade Klubnik, or Carson Beck, the talent pool is great.
