Taylen Green has had an absolutely killer performance at the NFL Combine, quickly emerging as one of the most coveted prospects for the NFL Draft in several weeks.
Grene had a particularly strong career with his college team, going for 2,714 passing yards, 19 touchdowns, and rushing 777 yards and eight scores in his last college football year.
The former Arkansas Razorbacks QB has had a terrific performance at the NFL combine, indeed, having clocked in 4.36 seconds on the 40-yard dash, which is the fastest time recorded bar the 4.35 seconds score clocked in by Anthony Richardson back in 2003.
Much like other college athletes on this list, Green has been making his media tour and speaking about his career so far, as well as his shift to pro football. Recently, Green popped on the Outta Pocket podcast to talk about how racial stereotyping plays a role in what people expect from the athlete.
In a frank account of his understanding of public perception - and that of football insiders - Green said that people would take a look at him, "see his color," and assume that he can "run" or that he is "just a runner," that he couldn’t throw or process dynamic situations.
"So I’m really, you know, RG3; I’m pretty sure you’ve been through that, been through that at this process too. So I was just trying to beat that stigma and just put everybody on notice that thinks that way," he argued.
Presently, though, no teams have approached the young prospect to have him specifically play in the QB position - most want him to be a wide receiver. He has been advised to consider making a switch as a way to secure his NFL future. Green, though, is fixated on playing QB, and he is not going to budge; he has already told the media.
