In this video Casino Guru News interview, the publication sits down with Matej Novota, Head of Casino Research at Casino Guru, who broaches one of the most important topics in the industry – why casino terms and conditions matter, and why casinos should care about actively improving the fine print and offer fair and player-focused terms.
In this interview, Matej shares insights on everything that influenced over 700 casinos to improve their terms & conditions based on Casino Guru’s recommendations, including key best practices his team employs in casino analysis, player protection, and building partnerships.
Matej dives deep into the behind-the-scenes of this project, its value, and whether it’s truly worth the effort. Watch the interview to discover Casino Guru’s approach to the iGaming industry and hear first-hand insights.
Novota has been with Casino Guru since the beginning, and he has contributed to the establishment of such key initiatives, including the Complaint Resolution Center, which made it obvious to the team that many of the issues that players experienced were rooted in the casinos’ terms and conditions.
This led to the creation of the Fair Gambling Codex, a tool meant to be used both internally but also serve as a blueprint for the industry as to what the do’s and don’ts of fair player treatment are.
Yet, the Fair Gambling Codex acknowledges that both the casino and players have responsibilities, and it is through all parties acknowledging their responsibilities that a fairer and safer gambling environment could be built.
The conversation also steers towards how casinos have changed their attitude towards T&C’s, and that it is not just Casino Guru that is outreaching to offer recommendations to certain operators. Operators are beginning to recognize the significance of Casino Guru’s Fair Gambling Codex and are seeking input proactively.
Novota also acknowledges that determining whether the T&Cs are fair and whether a casino is fair could mean two different things. He gives examples with casinos that score high on the Safety Index, between 8 and 9 out of 10, but also acknowledges that they may still have problematic rules that could lead to issues for players later on.
This and more is available in the full conversation with Matej Novota, whose insights into the Safety Index and Casino Guru’s commitment to making the gambling industry safer are well worth listening to in their entirety.
