Conor McGregor would be willing to fight at next year’s UFC White House event, having said on multiple occasions that he would be honored to do so, and stoking his ongoing rivalry with Michael Chandler.
The pair were scheduled to fight atUFC 303, but the bout was canceled, never taking place. Now, McGregor is looking for the opportunity to be part of the UFC White House’s main event card, while also taking on Chandler, but there is a "but."
The fighter has already laid his plans on social media X, posting: "$100 million to fight at the White House, along with 100 U.S. 'Golden Visas' for myself and family and friends. I look very forward to entertaining the fighting world once again. A pleasure I never take for granted!"
While McGregor had omitted monetary arrangements from his previous appealsto be admitted into the event, he has now increased his demands, asking to be rewarded accordingly.
His words have not been met with an official response just yet, but Dana White, UFC’s top honcho, has previously said that McGregor and he have been communicating.
White has stopped short of committing to a single fighter for the event, though, but McGregor has been building the hype around his name with skill and determination.
In the meantime, White has clarified a few details concerning the event, saying it would feature a 5,000-seat stadium, down from President Donald Trump’s estimated 20,000 people in attendance.
White has said that President Trump is determined to bring more people to the White House, as it belongs to the American people. With a lot of details still a moving target, there are a lot of unknowns as to what the final fight card would look like, and whether McGregor makes the cut.
What is clear, though, is that McGregor is looking for solid financial compensation. The sum of $100m would be comparable to Canelo Alvarez’s paycheck for his huge upset against Terence Crawford earlier this month.
