Vegas Matt banned from the Venetian over “advantage play”

Vegas Matt is one of those composed, if somewhat old-fashioned, casino influencers - a person who travels around the glitziest properties in the United States and starts betting hundreds of dollars per single round, recording content for his loyal followers.

Just when Matt thought that casino influencers had turned a page with the properties they use to spearhead their online personalities, however, the streamer has been dealt a setback, with the Venetian in Las Vegas banning the influential YouTuber.

Matt has confirmed the news himself in a sense, responding to Vital Vegas social media publication on X. Vital Vegas had written that Matt had been "86’d" from the Venetian, with no reason communicated, but the reporting suggests that Matt had used "advantage play" to win six figures.

Matt presented things a little differently, however. He said that The Venetian escorted him out of the property after his team won $400,000. He teased that he was playing a Phoenix Link slot machine, and said that his only advantage play was leaving the counter with more money than he had when he started, which is "hardly advantage play."

"Maybe they just didn’t like me winning," he said, adding that he had better options elsewhere: "Their loss. I prefer giving my business to properties that are happy when I just win."

Is there advantage play on slots?

Matt has argued recently that casinos were finally beginning to embrace casino influencers, understanding that they play a core role in driving business, with properties even reaching out to him to host events, hence why Matt felt more comfortable about the situation.

Vital Vegas’s social media account confirmed that banning Vegas Matt, of all people, would come with a downside, even for a property of The Venetian’s stature. Replying to commentators underneath the post, Vital Vegas also explained that there was no obligation for any casino to state the exact reason why a person has been asked to leave.

As the local reporters put it - casinos can prohibit access to their property for just about any person. One commentator similarly doubted that there is any advantage play to be had at a slot machine, which is the very basic principle of slot gameplay in general.

Casinos refusing service is not unheard of, even when there is no evidence of foul play. For example, Dana White, UFC’s boss, is often known to come in at a table, bet high on baccarat, and walk away after his first big win, not giving the casino a chance to win anything back.
