Vegas Matt, a famous Sin City gambler, to get his own biopic

Vegas Matt will be featured in a new indie film about his life, with his biopic set to shed more light on the life of the famous casino influencer and how he got to where he is today.

Comedian Mike Young has confirmed that he is working on the project, which is titled The Chop, and tells the rags-to-riches story of the influencer, whose real name is Stephen Matt Morrow.

Mike Young confirmed as writer for upcoming Vegas Matt biopic

Vegas Matt has hired Young to write the story for the film, focusing on Morrow’s life as a dedicated father who embraces his lifestyle as a high-stakes gambler.

It focuses on how the gambling influencer got to where he is today, with a following of more than 1.6 million on YouTube, and takes a closer look at his slot gameplay style, about which Vegas Matt has talked at length.

Some reports even suggest that Vegas Matt is an "advantage slot player," suggesting that he exploits his knowledge of slot machines to turn a profit, which may be part of the gambler’s fallacy.

Then again, Vegas Matt was indeed escorted from The Venetian as he was accused of just that - advantage play at slot machines.

Back to The Chop, the film should start filming in 2027, and Vegas Matt has not confirmed who would be directing the project. Casting, production, and financing have not yet been revealed.

Apart from the biopic, Vegas Matt has faced some criticism in his career. Most recently, YouTuber Rob Minnick published a video entitled "fake gambler" discussing Vegas Matt, arguing that the influencer’s exploits in his videos did not accurately reflect reality and could lead to instilling the wrong impression in people about how gambling works.

Being a famous gambling influencer is not a smooth ride

Vegas Matt has responded by sending a 17-page legal demand, asking Mannick to take down the video and issue a public apology. Mannick has refused. Despite Mannick’s criticism, Vegas Matt has been consistently open about his gambling and what that entails.

He has not necessarily glorified his lifestyle, approaching his public appearances with practicality. In interviews, Vegas Matt has talked about issues that he faces as a business owner.

Vegas Matt has been open about the difficulties he at first faced in securing deals with casinos, and that even though he was a high-stakes player, he had his limits as to how much he was prepared to gamble and lose.
