Wolverhampton Wanderers is doubling down on its sponsorship with a familiar and trusted brand for yet another season. AstroPay, a payments supplier brand, has announced that it would continue to support the Premier League football club.
The partnership between the two is entering its second year with AstroPay keen on remaining a familiar company in football space and expanding further across Europe and the United Kingdom. As a result of this ambition, AstroPay has committed to the 2022-2023 football season in the Premier League and its brand will appear across Wolverhampton’s numerous athletic organizations.
This includes the women’s and men’s football shirts, but also on the Wolverhampton’s esports jerseys. The companies have agreed to start selling merchandise with AstroPay’s logo as well, and the payment processor’s logo and assets will be displayed on-site at the Molineux which is the home training base and stadium for the team.
Wolverhampton will feature Astropay across its social media and digital channels and include the sponsor in various announcements, add its logos and other assets to ensure that the partner receives maximum exposure. Commenting on this milestone agreement, Wolverhampton General Manager for Marketing and Commercial Growth Russell Jones welcomed AstroPay as becoming the front-of-shirt sponsor for the team.
He argued that the team was extremely proud that AstroPay had chosen to team up with Wolves. AstroPay for its part is hopeful that will establish a better sway with consumers in Europe and the United Kingdom. AstroPay CEO Mikael Lijtenstein said that the present partnership was an extension of the excellent partnership already established with Wolves.
"They are a perfect fit for AstroPay and the partnership further solidifies our growth strategy, particularly in terms of increasing our visibility in the wider European market," he added.
Wolverhampton has been working actively to ensure that it promotes best practices. With the rise of gambling sponsorships in the Premier League, the organization has been very particular about supporting responsible gambling initiatives.
One such collaboration was struck back at the end of 2021 when Wolves and the Young Gamers and Gamblers Education Trust (YGAM) announced that they would be extending their partnership focused on educating and protecting vulnerable consumers from the dangers of prolific betting advertisement in the premier league.
