Relax Gaming has revealed that the stint of Chief Executive Officer Tommi Maijala is coming to an end and he will be replaced by now-former Chief Product OfficerSimon Hammon. Hammon should enter the new position soon after Maijala steps down at the end of 2022, which will mark the latest transition for the company.
Relax Gaming has decided to put its trust in Hammon, an industry heavyweight who has more than 10 years of experience working for the company. This is impressive given that Relax Gaming itself has been around for 12 years. The company has worked on a number of verticals, including poker, casino, bingo, and aggregation.
Relax Gaming is a company with a significant reach. The company has developed products such as Money Train and Temple Tumble genres, which have become instant hits. The Dream Drop Jackpot series and more have all been instant hits with iGaming audiences. Now, Hammon will seek to expand the company’s reach and help it meet its long-term objectives in the industry.
The new CEO said that the was thrilled to be stepping in. He argued that Relax Gaming had been strengthening its offer over the past years, making it one of the most clearly pronounced companies in the market. Hammon further spoke about the merits of Relax Gaming’s own team.
He argued that without the dedicated and passionate team members, the success of Relax Gaming would not have been possible. He also cited the company’s expertise in delivering new and exciting games along with the opportunity to brand itself in international markets.
Relax has focused on both B2B and B2C market propositions, aggregating titles and making thousands of games available to partners, but also developing its own in-house products. Relax has won numerous awards, including the Best GameProvider at AskGamblers Award and the Best Mobile Gaming Software Provider at the 2022 EGR B2B Awards.
Commenting on the appointment of Hammon as CEO, Chairman of the Board Patrik Österåker said that his knowledge, vision, and experience make him the perfect leader for the company in the next couple of years. Naturally, Österåker thanked Maijala for his service as chief executive.
Maijala will now focus on helping Hammon get up to date with the responsibilities of a chief executive over the next five months. Relax Gaming has been similarly committed to expanding its own footprint in new markets, with the brand entering the Italian market through a PokerStars partnership.
