The globally recognized gaming company, International Game Technology (IGT), announced it secured a new licensing agreement with Sony Pictures Television. Details regarding the new 10-year deal emerged Monday and see IGT secure exclusive rights from Sony for the Wheel of Fortune brand. The terms of the new deal cover lottery, gaming, iLottery, as well as iGaming rights.

Additionally, IGT will benefit from non-exclusive rights for the distribution of Wheel of Fortune content for different free-to-play social casinos. According to a statement released by IGT, the new contract will be in effect from January 1, 2025, through December 31, 2034.

The Wheel of Fortune slots is currently IGT's most successful slot theme and it has been popular for the last 25 years. By now, the company offers more than 300 versions of the famous slot game that is globally recognized for its hefty jackpots.

In 1996, IGT first introduced Wheel of Fortune slots. Since then, more than 1,100 lucky players have secured a prize of $1m or more. The total payouts from IGT's Wheel of Fortune slots since its launch to date have surpassed $3.5bn.

Currently, the Wheel of Fortune brand is available within IGT PlayDigital's iGaming operations. What's more, IGT also features the popular theme for iLottery and instant lottery games, as well as different second-chance promotions, reaffirming once again the popularity of the game.

Keeping in mind that Wheel of Fortune is IGT's most successful slot theme, the company constantly grows its presence around the globe. Only recently, IGT joined forces with BetMGM in New Jersey for the launch of "Wheel of Fortune Online Casino." Furthermore, IGT recently introduced the first omnichannel wide-area progressive jackpot in the US, Wheel of Fortune Triple Gold Gold Spin.

Suzanne Prete, Sony Pictures Television's Executive Vice President of Game Shows, commented on the topic: "We are thrilled to be extending our long-standing partnership with IGT." She added: "This landmark agreement guarantees that casino and lottery players around the world can enjoy world-class Wheel of Fortune-themed games for years to come."

Finally, Prete explained that Sony and IGT "share the same commitment to applying the Wheel of Fortune brand in ingenious ways, creating growth opportunities and ensuring that Wheel of Fortune remains synonymous with winning and fun."

Renato Ascoli, IGT's CEO, Global Gaming, was similarly delighted and said: "In securing exclusive gaming, lottery, iGaming and iLottery access to the Wheel of Fortune brand through 2034, IGT can maximize the returns of this licensing partnership and advance our legacy of creating omnichannel Wheel of Fortune games that generate demand and award prolific jackpots."

He acknowledged that IGT and Sony have collaborated successfully for nearly three decades. Last but not least, Ascoli said that those collaborations helped deliver an innovative and engaging portfolio of games that feature the popular Wheel of Fortune theme.
