Since acquiring Unikrn in 2021, Entain has had big plans for one of the pioneering esports betting platforms. The relaunch promises to introduce a brand-new form of entertainment for esports aficionados which aligned with Entain’s own philosophy and was signed by its own signature style. According to VentureBeat, citing an official statement by the company, Unikrn is relaunching with its features expanded, and a strong focus on other verticals, including sportsbook, casino games, and skill-based betting.

In a way, Unikrn is following a path that Rivalry.gg, a competitor, adopted – starting out as an endemic esports brand only to move forward towards a more flexible platform as of now. Unikrn is now available in Brazil and Canada, but it has not yet obtained a license in Ontario. The company already has several good ideas to bring more joy to consumers. Both markets are places where Entain has been able to operate with fair degrees of success over the years, making them a good starting choice for Unikrn’s launch as well.

One of those improved features is the UMode betting option which essentially allows players to bet on their own performance in a video game, and it’s not the only feature that adopts a similar skill-based betting option. Another interesting choice here is Moneymatch, which is designed to let players bet on their performance against a specific opponent.

UMode, and most of these features, were developed before the acquisition, and they have clearly been retained as a worthwhile innovation which is precisely what Entain is looking out for. All players who register on the platform will be able to earn Unikrn Rewards, assigned to players for just participating in games. Another option is the Unikrn Virtual service, which will also be expanded under the relaunch. Essentially, every aspect of the classic Unikrn experience has been retained with a notable improvement across the board.

The relaunch has been hailed by Entain Managing Director of Esports and Unikrn CEO Justin Dellario who spoke to Esports Insider, a dedicated video gaming media outlet, and said that the company has been able to integrate many core elements that focus on improving customer protection, better technology, and ensure that the platform is compliant in all markets it launches in not just at the start but also in the future.

Unikrn, explained Dellario, was all about the long-term strategy, arguing that over the coming years, the website will enter different meaningful partnerships with stakeholders from the entire ecosystem, including publishers, tournament organizers, teams, and others.
