Blueprint Gaming, a supplier with excellent credentials for crafting IP-based titles, is embarking on a new and ambitious project, with multiple Game of Thrones-inspired games queued up.
A new licensing agreement with Warner Bros. Discovery Global Experiences (WBDGE) will now allow the highly original studio behind other branded slots, including Ted and Ted Afterparty, to reimagine the world of one of the world’s best-known epic fantasies into iGaming form.
WBDGE and Blueprint Gaming are confident in the success of the partnership, and the licensing agreement already includes a clause allowing the studio to work on the House of the Dragon titles as part of the developer’s busy roadmap.
The first game based on the Game of Thrones series will be arriving in March, with several more titles to follow after that. The game will focus on building evocative character-driven worlds, which will resonate with fans of the franchise, but also introduce outsiders to the franchise’s rich storytelling.
Blueprint Gaming is hardly a chance partner either, as the company has a long and proud portfolio of building IP-based online casino games, working with globally recognized brands.
Commenting on the latest tie-up, Blueprint Gaming Head of Product Charlie Jacka had this to add:
"Game of Thrones is one of the most significant entertainment brands in the world, and working with an IP of this scale carries a clear responsibility."
"Our focus has been on creating a game that stays true to the depth and identity of the series, while delivering the engaging gameplay and mechanics operators expect from Blueprint," Jacka added.
This will also be the first Game of Thrones game to use the popular money-collecting mechanic, which also comes with a selection of base-game modifiers, free spins, and more.
Each game will be developed to be highly original and marked by distinct mechanics that help flesh out the world of Westeros and tell a strongvisual, narrative, and gameplay story.
This is hardly the first iGaming interpretation of the Game of Thrones franchise, however. Microgaming developed probably the most popular eponymous game back in the early days of the HBO TV series.
