Dmitry Starostenkov: “EvenBet Spins is a combination of poker and casino mechanics“

At SiGMA Rome 2025, Casino Guru News sat down for an interview with Dmitry Starostenkov, CEO at Evenbet Gaming.

Dmitry explained more about Evenbet Spins, the latest innovation from Evenbet. The discussion focused on regulatory changes and their impact on iGaming industry, strategies that companies use to retain players, personalization of experience for players, as well as the importance of leadership in the industry.

Dmitry has started by highlighting the importance of events such as SiGMA Europe and how they help EvenBet Gaming to connect with existing customers and generate new leads, as well as strike further partnerships.

Conferences are also a way to show that a business is growing and developing, but also introducing new products that EvenBet Gaming is keen to share with the rest of the industry, and get a feeling of how such products are received.

Speaking of new products, Starostenkov spoke about EvenBet Gaming’s new poker format that makes it easier for sportsbooks and casinos to integrate the vertical without having to go to extraordinary lengths or overcommit financial resources.

There is no need for companies to employ large teams to run the new product, while, at the same time, players find the format to be similarly rewarding and fun. Moving on, Starostenkov is not past addressing more demanding topics, including the European regulatory landscape.

He argues that Europe is moving predictably for the time being but cautions that some operators are forced out of markets or to lessen their investment, which could lead to less attractive offers. As he notes, "players always find a way to play."

Starostenkov calls this type of regulation a necessary stage of development; however, expressing hopes that things will improve over time, referring to making the landscape more accessible to regulated companies.

It should all be based on evidence; however, with regulators learning from what they test today and, in case it fails to work, introducing more balanced decisions and regulation. Starostenkov also offers a keen insight into what attracts companies to heavily regulated markets, where regulation can often feel burdensome.

He notes that it really comes down to understanding at what stage of development a given company is. The conversation then pivoted towards retention strategies, with Starostenkov highlighting the importance of focusing on the existing customer base first.
