An incredibly lucky lottery player matched all winning numbers from a popular lottery game in Maryland to secure one of the largest jackpots.

On Tuesday, the Maryland Lottery confirmed that a single Multi-Match ticket matched all winning numbers on Monday's drawing for a jackpot of more than $3m.

The jackpot is the sixth largest for Multi-Match

Not much more is known about the fortunate winner, who according to the Lottery, purchased their winning ticket at J Convenience on 8765 Satyr Hill Road in Parkville.

To win the top prize for a payout of $3.3m, the fortunate lottery player matched the winning numbers 3, 6, 16, 22, 26 and 33.

Selling the jackpot-winning lottery ticket, the retailer will benefit from a bonus of $3,300.

The latest win marks the first Multi-Match jackpot for 2025 and the sixth-largest prize in the game's history.

Last year, a total of eight jackpots were won from Multi-Match.

On the other hand, in 2023, the jackpot dropped a total of 10 times.

While the $3.3m win is the sixth-largest jackpot, the biggest top prize from the game to date was won on September 19, 2009, when a single ticket matched all winning numbers for a $4.8m payout.

The player can take the full jackpot via an annuity or take home a cash sum

In Maryland, lottery prizes of more than $25,000 can only be claimed via the Lottery's headquarters located in the Montgomery Park Business Center on 1800 Washington Blvd., Suite 330, in Baltimore.

The Maryland Lottery doesn't permit walk-ins for such prizes. However, it offers an online page where lucky players can schedule their appointments and select a convenient time.

According to the Lottery, the newest multimillionaire now has two options: to collect the full prize via annual installments or take home a lump cash sum.

The first option enables the winner to collect the entire $3.3m jackpot via equal annual installments for 25 years.

On the other hand, the latter option would award the winner a lump cash sum of $1.92m.

It's important to note that both sums are before the applicable state and federal taxes.

Usually, lottery players select the lump cash sum option rather than annuity payments.

The Lottery encouraged the fortunate winner to sign the back of the ticket and store it at a safe location prior to redeeming.

The lucky winner has a total of 182 days from the date of the drawing to claim the big win.
