The SBC Summit Rio held earlier this month has managed to beat all expectations, bringing in more than 4,000 attendees and broaching important dialogue and topics about the further expansion, development, and evolution of the Brazilian iGaming and sports betting market.
Held in time to celebrate the expansion of the Brazilian gambling market and taking a larger view at the Latin American region as well, the event featured over 70 exhibitors gathered at the Windsor Convention & Expo Center. The event similarly brought together 447 affiliates, or nearly 50% above the initial target, which has prompted SBC Events to now add the Affiliate Leaders Summit in Rio in 2025.
Yet, SBC Summit Rio is not stopping here, and with the dates locked in for next year, the event is moving shop to Riocentro, which could accommodate up to 10,000 delegates and 400 exhibitors, reflective of the event’s ambitions for next year and beyond.
Already, many exhibitors presenting their products, companies, and services at the 2024 event have confirmed that they will be making a return for the 2025 edition as well. The event reunited numerous operators and suppliers, among which were names such as EstrelaBet, Galera.Bet, Rei do Pitaco, Amusnet, Digitain, IDnow, PragmaticPlay, Oddin.gg, and more.
These companies operate in virtually different verticals of the iGaming and sports betting sector, including live casino, traditional slot gameplay, and even electronic sports, indicating the huge interest in the event and its significance. Pragmatic Play VP LatAm Victor Arias was among the speakers to have attested to the significance of the event and the important role it had for his company.
"Without a doubt, this opportunity was fundamental for Pragmatic Play, which is experiencing continuous growth in the country. These days were extremely intense, with important commercial agreements and a stand that was filled with visitors who enjoyed the environment and the experience that Pragmatic Play provided."
He was surrounded by like-minded business leaders who stressed the importance of the event’s timing. Superbet Alex Fonseca was pleased with the opportunity to see SBC Summit Rio take place and allow his company to leverage its existing momentum, build connections, and ultimately develop its footprint in the local market.
"For a European company venturing into this new territory, the knowledge acquired, and relationships forged with affiliates and suppliers will be pivotal in shaping our strategy," Fonseca said.
Not least, there was SBC Founder and CEO Rasmus Sojmark was similarly pleased with the event and the opportunities it had provided to attendants:
"I wouldn't exactly label the turnout as surprising; it was evident from the outset that this event held great promise for several reasons: the timing, the choice of Rio as the host city, and the quality associated with SBC. Nevertheless, I'm genuinely delighted to have had the opportunity to host both the Brazilian and international industry at our debut event in Rio."
Sojmark confirmed that he is excited for next year’s edition which has already been set for February 25-27, 2025. Later in 2024, SBC Events is also hosting the SBC Summit Latinoamerica which will take place on October 29-31, 2024.
