PrizePicks is going to leverage its position as North America’s leading daily fantasy sports operator, a position vacated by the likes of FanDuel and DraftKings, and team up with Kindbridge Behavioral Health to help address problem gambling and gambling-related harm.

PrizePicks to support players and employees with the new RG initiative

Kindbridge, which is a mental health service provider focused almost exclusively on helping people exhibiting signs of reckless gaming behavior, will work closely with PrizePicks to ensure that players and customer-facing employees are protected.

The partnership will see PrizePicks and Kindbridge provide access to top-tier clinical services at no initial cost to both groups. This is meant to respond to the increasing incidence of problem gambling around the United States for one, and the fact that states, lawmakers, and private companies are all stepping in a bid to counterweigh the issue.

Commenting on this opportunity, PrizePicks Co-founder and CEO Adam Wexler welcomed the opportunity to collaborate with an established force in the responsible gambling space, and he called on the role that fantasy sports have to play in helping improve responsible gambling as a whole.

"This initiative not only helps players and employees but also strengthens PrizePicks' role in promoting social responsibility within the industry. By addressing both prevention and treatment, we are paving the way for a healthier gaming community," Wexler further explained.

In the meantime, Kindbridge Behavioral Health Founder and CEO Daniel Umfleet was similarly pleased with the development.

He noted that one of the core problems that remained to this day was the fact that many people who wanted to get better and sought help were financially impeded by the entry cost to start their journey to recovery.

Helping players with a gambling problem get the treatment they need

This sentiment was shared by PrizePicks Senior Director of Responsible Gaming Phil Sherwood who said that many individuals indeed have to pay high out-of-pocket expenses to get to the healthcare they need to address the issues. He nevertheless remained optimistic about what the partnership may bring around.

This may not be necessarily true much longer. "This collaboration is a pivotal step toward eliminating these barriers, ensuring people can access the support they need, regardless of their financial situation," Umfleet said optimistically.

Addressing problem gambling has become an important part of the efforts by states and private companies, with RG specialists such as Kindbridge taking an important role in delivering solutions
