LeoVegas Group has become the latest gambling entity to join the European Gaming and Betting Association (EGBA), an organization dedicated to reuniting the leading European online gambling operators and making sure that they pool their efforts to create a more sustainable and consumer-focused industry.
LeoVegas Group will now be a part of a sprawling family of members who are similarly committed to advancing and weighing in on important industry-wide decisions across different jurisdictions in Europe. EGBA seeks to inform both European as well as national legislation and weigh in on important topics such as gambling regulation changes, player protection, and positive play experience.
With the addition of LeoVegas Group, EGBA is strengthening its presence in the Nordics, and will seek to help inform decisions regionally. There is much happening in the region as well, with Finland shifting to a licensee-based model and Sweden still trying to boost its channelization rates.
Commenting on this opportunity, LeoVegas Group Director of Policy & Regulatory Affairs Carl Brincat said that his company was pleased to be able to join EGBA and advance its important work.
"This partnership aligns perfectly with our vision of leading the way towards a sustainable and well-regulated gambling industry in Europe," he added.
The news was similarly welcomed by EGBA Secretary-General Maarten Haijer who said that LeoVegas Group brings valuable expertise to the association and enhances its collective efforts to promote a well-regulated and sustainable sector throughout Europe.
"We look forward to working closely with our new colleagues on our shared commitment to high industry standards," Maarten-Haijer said.
EGBA has been strengthening its member ranks at a rapid clip, with the association recently welcoming Super Group as one of its latest members.
