Leaving the company.

Kindred Group has confirmed on LinkedIn that it has picked Nils Andén as its new interim Chief Executive Officer as the company is undergoing some changes in its leadership and senior-level positions. Andén rejoined Kindred in 2020 after he previously worked for the group between 2006 and 2016, as both Head of Poker & Head of Established Markets and Chief Marketing Officer.

The official update shared on Tuesday confirms what the company already said in a press statement outlining the departure of Henrik Tjärnström, the now-former chief executive, with immediate effect. The change in the upper echelons of one of the biggest gambling companies comes at a time when more executives are leaving.

Earlier this week, the group’s CMO Elen Barber and CCO Anne-Jaap Snijders handed in their resignations. They will both depart from the company in the autumn. Kindred has hailed the contributions made by both of them and thanked the long-standing team members for their service and the notice period before they leave.

They are joining both Tjärnström and ex-CFO Johan Wilsby who have decided to throw in the towel. This exodus of high-ranking team members has not been commented on in detail. However, Kindred did recently notify stakeholders and the public that it may be considering a business sale, with no further details to be released until a decision in the matter has been reached.

Snijders thanked Kindred for offering him the opportunity to work for the company over the past years. He began his career as part of Kindred’s ecosystem with Unibet Group, the former name by which the group was known. Snijders began his career in 2012 and has been a big part of the company’s success in the years that followed.

Barber joined Kindred even earlier in 2010 when she started working as Global Affiliate Manager. She has since then progressed to hold many different positions within the company, including Head of Affiliates, Head of Performance Marketing, Head of Digital Advertising, and more.

Overall, Barber was happy with her career with Kindred. Both Barber and Snijders are true Kindred Group veterans and their departure is felt across the board. Tjärnström himself decided to leave after 14 years with the company, suggesting that Kindred is entering a new chapter of its business operations and a transitional period that may bring new challenges.
