Inspired Entertainment hires seasoned expert Ian Freeman for CCO

The leading provider of gaming technology, content, services and hardware, Inspired Entertainment, announced a new senior-level appointment. On Tuesday, the company revealed that it hired the seasoned expert with more than 20 years of experience within the iGaming and sports vertical, Ian Freeman. Joining Inspired Entertainment's C-suite, he was appointed to the role of Chief Commercial Officer of Virtuals.

As the job title suggests, Freeman will oversee the company's Virtual Sports products vertical. He is expected to leverage his extensive knowledge and industry experience to help propel the growth of the company's products. In addition to driving the growth of Virtual Sports products, Freeman's responsibilities will include the implementation and delivery of strategies, among other strategic goal-oriented functions. According to Inspired Entertainment, Freeman will assume his new role effective from November 16, 2023.

Becoming the new Chief Commercial Officer of Virtuals, he replaces Steve Rogers, who decided to step down from his role with the company after 25 years. In a statement released by Inspired Entertainment, the company's President and CEO, Brooks Pierce, commented: "I would like to thank Steve for his many contributions to the Company over the years. He has been a big part of our success." Additionally, Pierce pointed out: "We wish him all the best in his future endeavors."

Speaking about Freeman, Pierce acknowledged his solid experience within the betting industry, highlighting strategic roles he held at IGT, as well as Kambi. "With a proven track record in commercial, operational, and technical areas, Ian brings the perfect balance of capabilities needed to elevate our Virtual Sports business to the next level," added Pierce. Finally, Inspired Entertainment's President and CEO outlined: "Virtual Sports is a key driver of the growth strategy of Inspired and we are excited to add Ian to this key leadership role."

Currently, Freeman holds an MBA from Ashridge Business School. Additionally, he has a BA (HONS) in Business Administration from the University of Greenwich.

Throughout his extensive career, Freeman held strategic roles in globally recognized gaming and betting companies. As a seasoned veteran within the gambling sector, he was a part of the leading sports and iGaming platform provider, FSBTech, where he served as Chief Revenue Officer. During his tenure with the company, he was focused on boosting customer retention and acquisition, as well as driving growth through strategic launches in different markets.

In addition, he also held senior-level roles with the leading sports betting technology provider, Kambi, and played an important part with IGT PlayDigital as Vice President of Global Business Development and Commercial.
